Paesanos San Antonio, Texas

The beautiful city of San Antonio is known for the Alamo, the Riverwalk and the plethora of exceptional Mexican restaurants. But one of the restaurants I continue to go back to every time I visit there is Paesanos Italian restaurant. There are more than one locations for the restaurant, but my favorite is by the beautiful Riverwalk (https://www.paesanosriverwalk.com/).

And while I would love to tell you the variety of food that I have eaten there, I can only tell you about their calamari appetizer and their famous Shrimp Paesano. It’s my go-to dishes that I have every time.  The calamari are not the usual rings, but strips of plump and tender pieces perfectly seasoned, breaded and lightly fried. They melt in your mouth.  The Shrimp Paesanos is like no other that I have tried. The shrimp are tender and juicy and bathed in a velvety lemon cream sauce that you could drink with a straw. I paired it with a nice Pinot Grigio. I love that dish so much that I searched and found a copycat recipe of Shrimp Paesanos that I have posted in the recipe section of this site. It’s not hard to make and you and your guests will love it. I double the sauce recipe.
